Hello everyone!
Happy Friday or Fri-yay! Depending on how you look at it. I hope you have been having an enjoyable July filled with late nights, ice cream, pool days, and sunshine! I have been doing my best to make the most out of every day, even the rainy ones.
A run by the water is a great way to spend the afternoon.
Followed by a walk in the woods.
Summer is going by too fast, but I’m doing my best to stay present in the moment. As we say hello to another summer weekend, I wanted to share some of my favorite summer finds from this week. It’s a bit of a mixed bag from beauty, to books, and everything in between.
Let’s dive right into this week’s Friday Favs with with Erika and Andrea.
Blue Dress Top- I picked up this top from Ann Taylor at the start of the summer and have been looking for the best time to wear it. I got that chance last week as I paired the top with some navy pants and flats. I went for a more monochromatic look with the all navy, but this top could be matched with any color pant or even white. It could also go great with a skirt too. My favorite part of this top is the collar and sleeves.
Emily Henry’s New Book- I am a huge Emily Henry fan and couldn’t wait to get my hands on her new book, Great Big Beautiful Life. I really loved this book and it might be one of my favorite Emily Henry books. I loved the parallel storylines between the past and present. I adored the description of Georgia and of course, the relationship story. As I was reading, I was reminded a lot of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s, “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”, one of my favorite books. There were a lot of similarities with the storyline and the writing that made me love this book even more. Definitely 5 stars from me.
New Tumblr Cup- I never thought I would be raving about a cup, but here we are. I got this Tumbler mug/cup as a birthday gift and was immediately drawn to the lavender bows. But, I quickly became more obsessed with the cup itself. I have lots of water bottles and mugs (maybe even too many), but I love using this one. I love the handle, the straw, and the fact it fits into a cup holder, all major wins for me. I see what the obsession is when it comes to this style of mug.
New Concealer- If you have been following for a while, you know that I love to try new makeup products. I recently tried this new concealer by Maybelline and have been impressed with the coverage and the wear. I like that it’s a foam ball as opposed to a brush when you are applying it. It feels very lightweight and goes on smoothly. My only complaint is that I picked up a slightly darker shade than I should be using, so I do have to spend a bit more time blending it in. But, beyond that, it has been a worthwhile purchase.
Easy summer dress- I am always on the hunt for easy dresses to throw on after work or on the weekends and I found one that checks all the boxes. I love this orange, seersucker dress that I have been wearing through the summer months. It works great for a lunch date, church, or a picnic or party. I love how lightweight it is and the effortless style it provides. Having a few outfits in your closet that’s a step up from play clothes, but a step below business casual attire are my favorite.
