Friday Favorites #163
Hello everyone! Happy Friday!
How are we doing this week? Making our way through the ninth month of the year? Getting used to a new routine and structure with back to school? Enjoying life and sticking to the status quo? However you are spending your week, I hope it has been a successful and smooth one.
A beautiful sunrise to kick off the weekend.
This week has been a busy one for me, I have gotten the chance to meet up with some friends over the past few days and I’m looking forward to seeing more friends this weekend at different events. Sometimes, my calendar is wide open and other times, it’s filled with activities, I do love the mix it provides!
Before, I enjoy the weekend, I wanted to share some things that have caught my attention this week as I link up with Erika and Andrea.
Using Coffee Cups- This is by no means a new thing, but I have been working on savoring the simple joys in life, like a sweet treat, using the good things, and putting some extra care into my appearance. One thing I have been appreciating is using coffee cups. I am not a coffee drinker, but I love to start and end my day with a hot cup of tea. Pulling out a new one every day makes me smile. I even brought them with me on early morning walks. A small thing, but something that has been bringing me joy.
Bathroom Refresh- Did you read my post last week about living in your season and making the most out of every situation? Here’s one way I have done that. My youngest brother left for college and although I know he and my other brothers will be back to visit, for the first time, I have my own bathroom. I decided to use what I already had and make it my own. I used one of my wall flower plugs with a new scent from Bath and Body Works, fresh gingham, for a scent refresh. I also had some fun soap and lotion that a friend gave me and decided to bring that out too. A few small changes, but things that made me feel like me in the season I am in.
Face Scrubbers- I had been using the same face scrubber for far too long and I knew I needed a new one. The bristles were worn down and I could tell it was time for an upgrade. I found these silicone face cleaners from Target and I have been loving them. They have a little grip that fits in your hand and you can easily clean your makeup off without discomfort. It was a small upgrade and I’m glad I made the change.
The Third Gilmore Girl- I took a bit of a pause on audiobooks for the summer, but I’m back. As I’m watching Gilmore girls, I decided to listen to Kelly Bishop’s book, The Third Gilmore Girl. I learned so much about the actress, including her time on Broadway, her love life, of course her time on Gilmore girls, and life after. I really loved that she narrated the book. It was the perfect companion. Now, I’m on the hunt for my next audiobook. Any suggestions? I would love to dive into more memoirs or autobiographies narrated by the authors.
My Oxford Year- Speaking of books, one of my favorite books, My Oxford Year got turned into a movie on Netflix. I haven’t read the book in years, but I loved the storyline. I was anxious to see how the movie would compare to the book and it was fairly accurate. I thought the casting was well done and I loved all the scenes from London. It’s definitely worth the watch, but might I recommend reading the book first.
That’s a wrap on some highlights of this second week of September. Do you have any fall plans for this weekend or are you still holding onto summer? Let me know in the comments below!
Have a fabulous weekend!
