Friday Favorites #144

Hello everyone!

Happy May! It’s the first weekend of May, also known as my favorite month! It’s my birthday month and the start of all the spring and summer fun! I love the consistency of warmth and the promise of a new season that May brings.

It’s also the first Friday of the month and as always, I’m sharing five favorite things from this past week. If you read last week’s Friday Favorites, you may remember, it was all about the scents. This week, it’s a lot of beauty favorites! Let’s dive into some things that have brought me so much joy this week as I link up with Erika and Andrea.

Emily in Paris lip gloss-I always have a lip gloss or chap stick with me wherever I go. I have one by my bed, in my purse, and at my desk, so no matter where I go, I always have something to keep my lips moist. I recently have been using this Emily in Paris themed lip gloss from Bath and Body Works. It was part of the Emily in Paris collection that launched last year. I have been loving all the products from the collection, including the candles, lotions, sprays, hand sanitizers. What I love about this gloss is how smooth it goes on, the shine it gives off and the great coverage it provides. Plus, knowing it’s from the Emily in Paris collection makes me smile too.

Thin Perfume Sprays-Another Bath and Body Works favorites has been their thin perfume/fragrance sprays. Like chapstick, I always have hand lotion and body spray or perfume with me wherever I go. I keep a hand lotion by my bed, in my desk, in my car and in my purse, so I always have something to keep my hands soft. As far a body sprays and perfumes go, I will always spray some perfume on before I leave the house, but like to have an extra spray in my purse or at my desk at work. I have kept body sprays in my desk or purse, but find them to be a bit bulky. I prefer the thin perfume/fragrance to keep in my desk and my purse. I also find them to last longer than the body sprays. I am currently using Gingham Gorgeous, a perfect scent for spring.

Fun notebooks-I use notebooks at work every day. Rather than just using a simple, white notebook with no personality, I have been using these fun notebooks at work. I got them both as gifts from friends and they make me smile whenever I use them. I love that I’m using gifts from friends and I love the quality of the notebooks and paper too. They are the perfect size for note taking and jotting things down and I love the pop of color they bring to my desk. A small thing I use every day, but that has been bringing me joy at work.

Die with Zero- Another favorite from this week was a new book I read! Bill Perkins' book Die with Zero is all about living life to the fullest and spending your money as you go through life. He describes how to live your life to the fullest and not wait until you are old to do the things you love or want to do it. Shay Shull recommended it to me and I was so glad I read it. It was eye opening and gives you a different perspective of living. Highly recommend even if all the ideas don't apply to you. There were certain things I agreed with and want to apply to my own life and there were other things that I can't see myself doing, but it was interesting to read and learn some new things.

Roasted Almonds- Another food favorite for this week. I have never been a big almond person, I do enjoy them in a salad, but never on their own, until I found a new recipe. I made Joanna Gaines’ Asian salad from her Magnolia Two cookbook and the recipe calls for roasted almonds. They were super easy to make. Combine dry almonds with olive oil, honey, sesame seeds, and salt and roast for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees and you have a delicious crunch to add to your salad or eat on your own. I enjoyed them with my salad, but found myself eating them just as a snack. They were a great mix of sweet and salty and pretty healthy too!
