A Perfect Fall Day
Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend.
We’ve already had a taste of fall this year!
Here’s what I did!
I enjoyed lots of time outdoors with the fallen leaves, some warm soup, time with friends, plus a fun day trip.
A beautiful day for a walk
Complete with a warm bowl of soup!
I’m kicking off a new series today called “A Perfect Seasonal Day”. Once a season, I will share what a perfect day looks like to me. I got the idea from the seasonal bucket lists that I create and wanted to incorporate what a dream day would look like. I hope this inspires you to not only dream up perfect days, but try to execute them too. I have really been trying to romanticize the mundane things in life and this is one of the ways I hope to achieve that too. Who knows, maybe you will get a future post about if I achieved my perfect day.
Without further ado, here’s my perfect fall day:
Wake up early and enjoy my quiet time in the morning with my candle burning, followed by journaling, a word search, reading, prayer, and meditation and then catching up on my favorite blogs.
After a quiet morning, I’m going to head outside for a sunrise run, an easy five miles, and listen to a podcast, go a short walk to cool off after the run and enjoy the early morning sunshine.
Following my run, I’m going to home and get cleaned up for the day. I’m thinking jeans, a flannel, boots, and maybe a vest or my rain jacket depending on the weather.
This red, rain jacket would be a good option.
After getting cleaned up for the day, I’m going out for a fall activity in the morning, like picking up a warm drink, hot apple cider is my go-to, browsing a book store or library and read for a bit.
After some browsing, I will head out for a fall walk with my still (hopefully) warm drink to do some leaf peeping and get fresh air.
Then it’s time to enjoy lunch at a local spot. A soup and sandwich would be a perfect fall lunch.
I’ll spend the afternoon doing something fun and seasonal, like apple picking. Of course, I would want to sample some too.
After being out and about all day, I would head home and cut up the apples and make an apple dish, like a pie or a crumble.
While that’s cooking, I’m going to start making dinner. A perfect fall dish would be a soup, like chili that’s been cooking in the crock pot all day. I may even add some corn bread as a side.
After dinner, it’s time for a fall movie, When Harry Met Sally or You’ve Got Mail, or even Charlie Brown would be great movies to watch while I enjoy a fresh dessert with my apples.
After a comfort movie and a sweet treat, it’s time for some reading and bed.
There you have it, my perfect fall. If I can accomplish all these things over the course of the season, I will be more than happy.
As we are in the midst of fall, what does your perfect fall day look like?
I hope all your fall wishes and dreams come true. I’ll see you back here on Friday!
Have a great rest of your week!
