Coffee Catch-Up #33
Hello everyone!
Happy Monday and happy last day of August! I don’t know about you, but September snuck up on me. I’m still very much into summer mode, so I won’t be talking too much about fall feels yet.
As we say goodbye to August, I had a summer filled weekend, crossing off the final few items on my summer bucket list, but like I said, summer isn’t over yet. We also had family visiting this weekend which is always a good time especially at the end of summer.
Here’s a look at how I spent the past few days.
I enjoyed lots of time outside which included lunch by the water. The bay and city was showing off!
My weekend also included trip to our local county fair. I grew up going as a kid and still like to go as an adult. I love to see the livestock, different booths, and exhibits, and you can’t forget the delicious fair food! I always go for kettle corn or a funnel cake!
I was up early for a long run as part of my marathon training. It was beautiful to see the sun rise while I put in the miles.
A bright spot in my weekend was my Simplified order coming in! I mentioned it on Friday and it was in my hands by the weekend. I can’t wait for the new year to start using it!
I got to enjoy a boat ride on the water and a hike at our local park which was fun. Our summers are so short, I try to spend as much time outside as possible.
A favorite pastime of mine and my husband is detailing cars. We try to do it once a year and the satisfaction is so good. We cleaned my car over the weekend and not that it was a mess before, but spending a few hours on it made such a difference.
I really tried to soak up the nice weather and that included a walk and visit to a favorite local coffee shop.
We ended the weekend with grilling and ice cream! Yum! You can’t get anymore summer than that.
Even though, the warm weather will still be lingering for a while and I’m not rushing it, it felt like the end of summer this weekend with people moving or heading back to school. These next few weeks will be a bit of a transition, but I am looking forward to the new beginnings and fresh starts. I am trying to focus on the positive and not wallow in sadness or missing people. We will see how it goes, brighter days ahead! See you back here on Wednesday!
