Eight Years of Elspeth’s Day by Day
Hello All!
Happy Wednesday! I can’t believe we are in the final stretch of May! Memorial Day is this weekend and the month is flying by.
The weather was gorgeous this past weekend for a wedding I attended and I got to spend lots of time outside. My favorite.
Today, I am celebrating eight years of blogging!
Eight years. I can't believe it's been eight years since I sat down and wrote my first post.
I would share that post, but it’s a bit cringey. Haha!
I started my blog as a creative outlet during my freshmen year of college. I was homesick and a bit lonely and was looking for something that sparked creativity and joy and my blog has certainly done that. I started out talking about college life, starting to workout, what I was wearing, and what was keeping me busy on the weekend.
Through the years, I have grown as my blog has grown. I've gone through different kinds of posts and content, designs and themes, but the message has always remained the same, living life to the fullest one day at a time.
Since I started my blog, I have gone through college and graduated, got my first (DREAM!) job, moved home and navigated adulthood. I endured a pandemic like everyone across the globe, and several elections. I spent time with friends, have gotten back so much family time by living at home, fell in love, and gotten to know myself even better. I've found hobbies that brought me joy, and let go of things that held me back and didn’t suit me. Through my blog, I have documented hundreds of outfits, shared dozens of meals, given so many book recommendations, and showed you my favorite things each and every week.
I've done lots of traveling, from Italy (twice!) to New York City, Canada, Orlando, and many day trips in between. I've shared travel hacks and tips that I have picked up along the way. We have organized so many spaces, spent time outside, and shared bucket lists for every season.
I've never viewed my blog as a job, it's always been such a fun hobby that brings me joy, and I will continue to blog, share my thoughts, what I’m loving, and what brings me joy. Through the years, the tone and posts may have changed, but the message has stayed the same.
I’m not sure what this next year will bring, but I know it will include lots of recipes, time enjoying my passions, new adventures, favorite things, and life experiences. It’s been such a pleasure to look back on how I’ve grown through the past eight years. I’ve gained life experience, confidence, and grown a lot through the years.
Thank you to my readers for coming along for this journey. I appreciate every view, comment, and subscription. Thank you for letting me share my life with you. It means so much that you care about me in this special corner on the internet. Here’s to a new year! I’m grateful for you all! I hope you continue to live life one day at a time, just like me.
