Friday Favorites #151

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday! I hope you are having a great week and are ready for the weekend. I have been soaking up the summer season as much as I can over the past few weeks. It’s been a busy time between work and summer fun and I’m here for it.

I have some weekend plans and I hope you do too! Before we get to the weekend, I wanted to share some of my favorite things from the week.

Let’s dive in as I link up with Erika and Andrea.

New Lululemon Top- The start of June brought some cooler mornings followed by hot afternoons. In the morning, when I am heading out to the gym or for a run, I sometimes need a lightweight top. I got this blue, lululemon top and have been getting a lot of use out of it lately. I love the thin and stretch material that it provides. The light, blue color is perfect for spring and it matches with lots of shorts and leggings.

New Body Wash-I mentioned in a recent Friday Favorites post that I got new scents for my body lotion and spray from Bath and Body Works and while I didn’t have a matching body wash to go with it, I did have another one that compliments the lotion and spray well. Champagne Toast is such a delicate scent that isn’t too strong or overpowering and leaves you feeling refreshed.

Good Night and Good Luck- Did you catch the live Broadway performance of Good Night, and Good Luck? It’s a show on Broadway starring George Clooney and CNN aired a live performance at the beginning of the month. It’s all about Edward R Murrow and the media and McCarthy in the 1960’s. I watched the film in college for a class and was interested when I heard they were making it into a Broadway show.  I thought the show was very well down and timely in today’s day and landscape too. An informative show to watch.

The Women-I know I am late to the party but I just finished listening to “The Women” by Kristin Hannah. I have heard wonderful things about this book, but I’m not a big historical fiction fan, I don’t like super heavy books, and the length was a bit daunting. However, I decided to go for it and I’m so glad I did. I got sucked into the book about the Vietnam War, the nurses who worked in the trenches, and life after the war. The book was informative, heartbreaking, hopeful, and inspiring, all in one story. I found myself looking for different times to sneak in a few minutes of listening whenever I could. I loved this book and would highly recommend it! 5 Stars!

One Book at a Time- This is something I am going to try for the next few weeks or months, only reading one book at a time. I found myself putting multiple books on hold at the library via hardcover or Libby and reading books on my phone or listening to them via audiobook. While it’s great to have multiple options, it’s not so great when you are on a deadline to get them all read and it stresses you out. My new focus is going to be just reading one book at a time and not reading one book and listening to another. I’m hoping this will help me enjoy the book I’m reading and not feel the pressure to get multiple books read before they are due. I’m going to give this a try and see how it goes.

That’s a look into things I have been loving this week. What are some things you have been loving this week? I would love to know. Have a fabulous weekend! See you back here on Wednesday!
