Friday Favorites #154
Hi everyone!
Happy Friday! I hope you are having a great week as we make our way through July! It has been a packed full month and we are only getting started.
Nothing says summer like baseball
New Car Scent- The summer season has me craving all the beach and summer smells including what I use in my car. I am currently enjoying the scents of the beach with the Ocean car scent from Bath and Body Works. It’s not too overpowering and it’s quite refreshing, all qualities I am looking for in a scent. I love these car scents and go through them seasonally.
Cleaning Cars- Speaking of a new car scent, something that was on my spring/summer bucket list was to deep clean and detail my car. My boyfriend and I spent a Friday afternoon tackling every inch of my car and it felt so good to get everything cleaned, even the mats and tiny crevices. After we did the inside, I treated myself to a quick car wash and felt like a whole new person with a clean car. I do a pretty job when it comes to keeping it clean, but I love the feel and satisfaction of a detailed car.
Face Masks- I treated myself to a little self-care day on a recent day off. I did a thorough hair washing, did my weekly nail polish color change, and put on a facemask while I did chores around the house. It wasn’t much but I felt good after a little pampering. I have been trying these new facemasks. I prefer a sheet facemask compared to a cream or paste. I love how it left my face feeling fresh and rejuvenated. I have sensitive skin, but these facemasks did the trick.
The Favorites- June was a slower reading month for me. I have been having so much fun doing things and being outdoors, it has left me with less time for reading, but I still make sure I get in some reading every day. I just finished the book, The Favorites by Layne Fargo. Wow, it was such a good book. It tells the story of a skating duo and their lives as they work to achieve Olympic dreams. It follows characters over the course of decades. There’s romance, drama, heartbreak, and betrayal. But, my personal favorite part of how the story was told is that it went back and forth between the narrator and an interview of a documentary, almost like Daisy Jones and the Six vibes. I really loved this story and how it was told.
Cash Only July- I don’t know if I would call this a favorite yet, but my boyfriend and I are in the middle of a Cash only July. We are challenging ourselves to only pay for things with cash as a better way to keep track of our expenses. We each have our own budgets and keep track of our own expenses, but want to see how things go by only using cash. We are only a few weeks in and it’s going well so far. I will have a much more expansive post about the month coming up in August.
That’s a look into life lately, some of my favorite things, and what I’m loving. As we make our way through July, I would love to know how your month is going. What have been some favorites and what are you looking forward to? I would love to know! Have a great summer weekend!
