Friday Favorites #208

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a great week and are ready for the weekend. My oh my, summer is flying by. I am trying to savor the sweet summertime amidst the craziness. We have had family and friends visiting in the summer and people coming and going. It’s been a fun and memorable time to say the least. Before, we get to the weekend, I wanted to share some recent favorites from this week as I link up Erika and Andrea.

I have some food, fashion, and fun entertainment to get you all caught up on.

Let’s dive in!

Pink and Blue Summer Dress- I dress up for work every day, so I am always on the hunt for new dresses that are good quality, professional, and practical. I tend to have luck shopping at T.J. Maxx, Ann Taylor, and Marshalls. Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Karl Lagerfeld are always designer brand wins for me. I picked up this dress for work in the summertime from T.J. Maxx and I fell in love with it. I love the navy and pink complimentary colors, plus the style and cut is flattering. I like how you can wear it with heels or sandals, a sweater or light jacket. It would be a great cocktail dress or something to wear to church or in the office. A win for me!

Black Sleeveless Dress- Another professional dress that can be worn at different functions. I got this dress from Marshall’s and it was another great deal and style for me. I love how it’s sleeveless for hot summer days, but you can drape a shawl, sweater, or light jacket for evenings out. You can really dress it up with a fun pair of heels, or keep it casual with flats or sandals. Versatility is key. The accent buttons may be my favorite part of the dress. I absolutely love the details.

New Journal- You know by now, I am big on using what I have and self reflection, and these two things certainly go hand in hand for this next favorite. Rather than buying a new journal at the start of the year, I decided to use what I have at my home. I have gotten journals, notebooks, and stationary as gifts for years, but never used them. That has been changing over the past few years as I really have been making a point to use what I have both at work and home. You know I like my fun, decorative notebooks at work and that’s no different at home. I started the year with my daily journal that I created years ago on Shutterfly, but found myself running out of pages with still have a year to go. Rather than buy new, I looked at my stash of desk supplies and found this beautiful velvet journal that I received as a gift. I love the details and the embroidery on it. It’s a blank notebook, so there is plenty of space to jot down my thoughts, dreams, visions and daily musings. Another way I treasure these gifts is because whenever I use it, it reminds me of the person that gifted it to me. A beautiful favorite from this week.

New Purse- I got a new work purse for my birthday earlier this year and it was such a treat and long overdue. I have been using the sam purse from college to work and everyday use and it has seen better days after using it for almost a decade! I upgraded my Michael Kors purse to a Kate Spade tote and I am loving it. It has plenty of space for all my necessities from my planner to pens, travel items, chargers, and more. It’s the perfect size and shape and I can’t rave about it enough!

The Five Star Weekend-I am a little bit late to the party, but I have been watching The Five Star Weekend on Peacock! I read the book a few years ago and when I heard it was going to be turned into a series on Peacock, I couldn’t wait to watch! I have been watching it at night over the past few weeks and I have been really loving it. It makes me so happy that it was filmed on Nantucket. I love all the references to the island. I think the casting was well done and I liked how close it was to the book. It gets 5 stars from me!

That’s a look into some of my favorite things from this week. As we gear up for another weekend, what are some things on your radar? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Friday!

I’ll see you back here on Monday morning!
