Friday Favorites #223

Hello everyone!

Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week post Halloween and with the time change. We also had our Elections this week, so it was a busy work week for me. But, I am out of town to visit my husband this weekend, so all the work ahead of this weekend was worth it. I am embracing all the fall feels this week, we had sunshine and temps in the 60s and 70s, a HUGE win!

I’ll share more of my time away on Monday, but until then, here’s a look at some new things I am loving this week, plus some new routines I am trying out as I link up with Erika and Andrea !

New Shoes- I was in search of a new pair of heels for the fall and winter and I knew DSW was my go-to spot. I found these shoes that are perfect. I love the color and style. They were affordable and can go with so many outfits, from dresses, to skirts, and pants. I know I will be getting a lot of good wear from them. Plus, how can I forget that they are super comfortable too!

Morning Reading- This has been a new routine for me. I am an early riser and feel most productive in the morning. I always like to work out first thing in the morning too, but, now that we are into fall, it stays darker longer, so I can’t get up and go for a run. As a way to avoid the treadmill for as long as possible in the fall and winter months, I have been pushing my workouts to later on my days off. I still get up at the same time, but I have spent more time easing into the day and reading and then going for a run later. It may not seem like a big change, but for me, in this season, it’s been nice to have more downtime and quiet time to read and journal and feel better about a run later in the day when it’s warmer and the sun is out. Plus, it has given me more time for reading in the morning, one of my favorite hobbies!

New Recipes- I was in a bit of a recipe rut and not even Pinterest could help me out of it, so I turned to something trusty and true. I went through my mom’s old cookbooks to hunt for new to me recipes. It gave me so many great ideas for meals, snacks, and desserts to try and it was fun to do some analog “research”. Now, I just need to get in the kitchen to start cooking!

New Candle- This will probably be my last candle before we are burning Christmas candles. I wanted something soft and subtle and a more subdue scent. This wood and leather scent is perfect for the changing seasons and dare I say, calm before the storm. I know I will be craving the peppermint soon, but for now, I’ll stick with a subtle fall scent.

Simplified Charm- I got some of Simplified’s charms for my birthday and am getting around to using them. They are perfect for key chains, holding your keys, putting them on your planners or on a wristlet. I LOVE the bow. It’s perfect for fall and it goes great with my wallet.

There you have it! A recent roundup of some favorite items, routines, and rhythms. I hope this gives you the courage to try new routines if something isn’t working for you, who knows it may benefit you in the long run.

I am off for a continued weekend with my husband. I’ll see you back here on Monday for a recap! Have a wonderful weekend!
