Let’s Look: The Hardest Things We Have Done

Hello everyone!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week as we make our way through April. It's a BIG day for me. Today is the Launch day for Simplified. They revealed the collection on Monday and each day this week there are different live chats and videos that people can enjoy with Team Simplified getting ready for the launch today. This is like Christmas for me, even though I am a yearly planner girl, I love to pick out a few things to add to my collection. This is my pick for next year, I'm so excited that the book bound planners are back.

I also have a big weekend ahead as I will be making a trip to New England to visit my fiancé. I can't wait. Needless to say, I have a lot of fun things happening.

But let's not get too ahead of ourselves and focus on the here and now. It's the second Wednesday of the month which means it's time for another Let's Look as I link up with Erika and Shay to share different parts of our lives. I love this monthly link up. Here's what we have chatted about so far this year.

In January we chatted about Things We Outsource Without Regret

In February, we talked aboutWays We Are Turning Into Our Parents.

In March, we shared about Favorite Family Vacations

This month, the prompt is all about sharing the hardest things we have done. I am still fairly young and I have been fortunate that I haven't had too many hard things that I have overcome, but there are a few instances that I have been faced with some hard challenges that I had to work through and learn from.

Here's a few that stand out to me:

-Going to College- I am the oldest in my family and the first one to fly the nest. While I was excited for new beginnings and college, I was definitely anxious. I was terribly homesick for my first semester, but grew a lot by being on my own and away from home. I found great friends, a wonderful community, and got involved, but I still got homesick every time I went back after a weekend home or break. College did bring me lots of new beginnings including this blog.

-Making the Decision to go Long Distance- My now fiancé and I had to make the tough decision to go long-distance two years ago. While it  wasn't the easiest decision and being a part can be challenging, we both agreed it was the best choice for our careers and futures. Having a long-distance relationship has brought up closer together, made us better communicators, and appreciate our time together even more. Long distance isn't for everyone, but we have made it work. We both know it will be worth it in the end.

-Making the decision to put myself first- As I have grown and matured, there have been times where I made the decision to put myself first and it wasn't always easy. I am someone who puts myself last and takes care of everyone else before I take care of me. But as I have gotten older, I am working to put myself first and take care of me whether it's physically, mentally, or emotionally. It can be as simple and going to bed earlier to catch up on sleep, or planning time with a friend, but I know I can best serve others when I am taken care of.

There are probably a hundred different hard things I have overcome, but these three really stick out to me. We all have overcome challenges in life and grown and learned from them. What are some that stick out to you? I would love to hear if you are willing to share. Happy Wednesday friends! See you back here on Friday!
