Let’s Look: Things We Are Making More Time For

Hello everyone!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a delightful day as we make our way through June. I love, love, love summertime.

Summertime means lots of grilling and picnicing!

There’s something special about the act of slowing down and carving time out for the things you love.

I love peaceful mornings and nights at home in the summertime.

It’s the second week of the month which means it’s time for another Let’s Look as I link up with Erika and Shay for another edition of Let’s Look. Here’s some of the topics we have covered in 2026.

In January we chatted about Things We Outsource Without Regret

In February, we talked aboutWays We Are Turning Into Our Parents.

In March, we shared about Favorite Family Vacations

In April, we talked all about The Hardest Things We Have Done.

In May, the topic was all about Making Couple Friends.

We are halfway through the year and today, we are chatting all about things we are making more time for. This topic comes at the perfect time as I am in a very busy season of life right now. It’s all good things, but it’s a hectic time. I have lots of projects, events, life changes in the works, so carving time out for myself can be a challenge these days.

I am doing my best to get what I need to get done, have fun, and be social and take time for myself, it’s certainly a balancing act.

As we enter these summer months, here’s a few things I am making more time for:

Time Outside- Our summers are so short and our warm weather is limited so I really try to prioritize my time outside when the weather is nice. I do a good job of making time for outdoor walks and runs and I try to read a lot outside, but I want to make more of an effort to eat meals outside (especially on days off) and I want to do more water based activities, like swimming, going to the beach, soaking in the hot tub in the summer. I often find excuses not to do it and I want to make sure I am carving more time for outdoor activities.

Running- This is something I have been doing over the past several months and will continue to do. I am currently training for a marathon in September, so training and running has been a priority for me. When planning out my days and days off, I often have to schedule things around a longer run or workout to make sure I am getting in my training for the days and weeks.

Slower Activities- On the complete opposite spectrum of running, when my days are super busy, I am craving more quiet, alone, and peaceful time and activities. This could come in the form of making more time for reading, putting my phone down when I get in from work, or even going to bed earlier. I am often on the go on work days and weekends, so carving time out for myself is crucial in a busy season of life.

I have so many things that I do daily (work, family time, friend time) that get my attention every day and I do a good job of keeping up with. But in busier seasons of life or stretches of time, I find myself making sure I am putting myself first. Sometimes that’s in the form or saying no, staying in, or going out. Life is certainly a balancing act, but I have found if I stay true to myself and put myself first, the other commitments fall into place.

As summer gets into full swing, what are some things you are making more time for?

Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Wednesday and I’ll see you back here on Friday for another fun edition of Friday Favorites!
